Rode today with the son-in-law and granddaughter on the V-star with sidecar. Temp was about +10F

Now if we went down south to AZ you would see near naked Alaskans going around dressed in bags of ice, even if the temps were only around 80.
NO!....NO! dont't want to see no naked Alaskans

Looks like fun SLK. Hell 10+ temps is short sleeve weather after 30-60 below ;) I remember those temps at  ft. wainwright decades ago :)

I was plenty warm in my parka, almost too warm.  Why I was practically naked under my clothes.

I hope that pic is your fiancee.... cause if that's one of your "buddies"... you're in trouble.   ;D

Not yet. She has the ring though. ;)   Actually she's been too busy with being a caregiver for her 85 yr old father so we have it on hold for now.

Left Anchorage today with temps around 10+ got home to Fairbanks with around - 20 no riding.  Got home to non functioning well but have water now.  Wife refuses to live without inside running water.  I must agree it is nice to have when it is extremely cold.  So as long as it keeps working tomorrow will see me riding the 4 wheeler.

Ares and the rest of you guys down south; my daughter just read this discussion about needing warm riding in your climate and she said, Dad that is just Pathetic.

Tell your daughter to come spend an entire summer here.  There is no doubt in my mind that she will change her mind about needing warm riding gear in our climate...  :o

I was thinking the same thing.  Have her come down in July or August and I'll suit her up in full leather, helmet, gloves and boots (like I wear) and let's see how pathetic she thinks I am then.

Guys, you are making the point for my daughter.  She thinks it is pathetic that in a HOT climate you would need More Heat Retaining gear to stay warm.  We would be dying from the heat, and shedding clothing. Once the temp gets over 60 we are riding in gear designed to help keep us cool.  So we could understand you needing that extra gear if you came here.  So we see your need for warm gear in your climat like it would be be for us at 40 below with 40 mph winds complaining that we are just to hot and wanting the temp to drop to 60 below and wind to blow at 50 mph, we don't we want the temp to go Down we want it to warm up a little,so we would expect you guys to want the the temps to be cooler not hotter.
