Very nice ride today, 70 degrees...Georgia mountains rode about 150 miles.

I wish... it was "supposed" to be cloudy today with only a slight chance of  :raining:  It's been :raining: for days and was "supposed" to hold off and starting :raining: again on Sunday.   WRONG!!!   :censored:

Rode with my peeps to Jacksonville, NC yesterday. Stopped at New River Harley to take a breather. They had a green Breakout in the showroom. Great looking bike (except it was a god awful green), with a $29k price tag. Salesman comes over and starts gushing about ride, torque, hp, and looks. I'm standing there shaking my head, and he says "What are you riding ?" I point out the window to Ruby, and he says "What is that ?" I told him "It's an '09 Raider". He looks back at me with a sad eyed look, and says "Oh, you've already got enough bike, don't you"  ;D

Funny how after 4 years there is not a single harley rider in the area who wants to challenge any of the Japanese cruisers, except for the Vrods and now a lot of them are giving the "rice burners" the respect they deserve.  last year the only challenges I got we're from 1 Vrod and one Kawasaki, and a Harley owning buddy of mine got his 19 year old son a Raider test ride saying "this beast is way too much, do not go over 80".  The bike sold the next day, and my friend was very relieved.  His son still wants a Raider.

No ride today.  9 degrees right now with fresh snow on the roads.  High today supposed to reach 20.  Looks like Wednesday will be first day able to ride since this cold snap hit (if the roads dry out).  Need a Raider fix, really bad.

I did not ride all weekend, but I spent the entire weekend with my Raider making changes.

Rode to work this morning in some of the coldest weather we've had in the Phoenix area in a long time.  It was 21° F on my way in and believe me, that "F" does not stand for "Farenheit".  It stands for the word that I kept repeating the whole way in. My right hand just ached the whole way and I think spent more time against my exhaust than on my handle grip.  I talked to Gerbing last week and my glove should be on it's way by mid week, so I may have it by the end of this week or early next.

The bizarre thing is the last couple of days were highs of 49° to 51° and come Thursday it's supposed to be 71° and looks like it will remain up there for a while. I'm okay with that.

I rode into work this morning, 15 degrees out!!!! Kinda surprised the bike even started, not sure how old or what brand battery but it still cranks it over. Only thing cold was my forehead and hands. Gotta get me some winter gloves. I didnt want to ride today but my sister has my truck for a couple days because her car broke down.

Gerbing heated gloves rock!!!

A balaclava will really help with the cold forehead.

15° had to be painful.

Been thinking about heated gloves. Had I worn my full helmet instead of the half helmet my fore head would have been ok. I have one of those bandana type face covers that works really well.

You definitely handle the cold better than I do.

I have some good winter gear, but not that good. When the temps get down in the 20's here I don't even try to ride. Too painful. I'm caging it today and possibly tomorrow morning. This is our coldest week yet with temps down in the 20's and teens at night most of the week. You guys in the colder climate places have my respect. I don't even want to go outside when it's that cold!  :yikes:
Life looks better from the saddle of a motorcycle.

I've been riding with a FF helmet, Gerbing heated liner/gloves and chaps. I also bought a few pair of the tight sports gear (Nike Pro Combat) the athletes wear on their legs to keep them cool or warm. I wear the under my pants like long johns. I am warmer on the bike at 70mph than I am walking across the parking lot.

My only regret is that I didn't do it a long time ago!
