Hi to everyone, new guy on the block.  I just bought a 2008 Raider off of a forum member (nonelower) and am just getting familiar with it.  Even tho we have had some rough weather here in NJ recently I have managed to squeeze in a few rides.  This bike is a sweet ride with allot of power. Usually I get a bike and start spending money on chrome, etc but there is not much left to do to this bike, nonelower put allot of time and money into this bike and it shows.  I gotten many compliments already in the short time I have had it.  As I write this, she is getting new rubber in the back (240) and a good going over at the shop since she has over 10K on her.  Hope to get her back in a few days.  Suck's that riding season is winding down out here on east coast, but I got winter riding gear!  My previous ride ( still have up for sale) is a 2010 Honda Fury - they always compared these bikes to each other - but now that I have had both.... no comparison at all!  The only thing I never really liked on the Raider was that big exhaust - thank god for the Cobra's on mine!

Welcome from southern Colorado.  Always liked the looks of the Fury, but it and the Raider are two completely different bikes.

Welcome From good old Syracuse NY and to our forum, great bunch of guys here and a wealth of knowledge.
Once you start looking around you will see some great mods done on some awesome bikes, which will inspire you and give you some ideas of your own to do to your ride.

CONGRATS and WELCOME from AZ!!!  If you think there's really nothing more to do to your Raider, then stay clear of this forum.  You'll see so many things others have done that you'll get the mod big in no time and it'll be an ongoing project.

this is big john from newark, delaware. i really like reading tech. stuff and getting info on mods, for my 08 raider. i'm not much on the pc and i probably will get some people pissed off for not doing this like your supposed too. i have sold alot of car stuff on the net. some people have ripped me off, some are good to deal with. i might have a stock yamaha raider windshield for sale with keys and brackets. [if i can figure out how to post it in the classifieds] i guess that's all for now. let tthe record show that i am a christian [from a biblcal stand point]. this is something most think they can understand but few really do..bottom line..God will have the final say..my faith is off limits to the opinions of anybody..i, as well as u will answer to God alone without excuse. i hope your as ready as i think i am

I just found this thread so I'll post my short intro.  I've been a member for a short time now and I'm also a new rider.  I was in the market for a bike and I couldn't pass up the deal I got on my Raider (10.2K out the door and it was still in the crate from the manufacturer) Active duty Marine Gunnery Sergeant stationed in SoCal (29 Palms).  Always looking for good advice.  Just changed my oil and transfer case oil last night on my bike after the 600 mile break in period (I  had 700 miles).  I couldn't have done it without all the help on this site.
