Hi my name is Jeff and this is my first post. Just joined today. I am looking into buying a radier pretty soon I think. I have an 06 hayabusa that I have had since new and it has been a loyal ride but I am looking to sell it and looking for a change of pace until the gen 3 comes out. I was looking to add a raider to the stable and found a used 08 for $9000 with only about 4k miles on it. Any issues with the 08's that anyone knows of? It was the first year I think so you know how that goes for first years of any bike. Good bad any input would be appreciated. I rode one a cple of years ago and it was one smooth comfy ride. Fell in love with it right away. Has there been any issues with the bike since it came out.?

congrats on the future purchase, you won't be disappointed.

Only thing I can remember is backwards thread pattern on rear tire, there is a picture somewhere on the site of how the tire looked from factory and the proper thread pattern other than that, enjoy...

My raider is an 08 with 11k no problems here! I'm just now about to replace the stock tire for an Avon 240. I don't think they have really changed since they came out. Comfortable, solid, well built machine!

I was wondering if they changed at all from year to year other that color. I think some have abs? Other than that though they look the same. Any internal improvements?

Other than color they are the same, 09 had issues with push rods but I haven't heard about any 08 issues. I have an 08 with just over 10k on the clock and not a single issue!

A few had coil wires reversed, but very easy fix.

Welcome to the forum. I have an 08 also and know factory issues just make sure you trust your shop when you start doing modifications after your purchase. As far as 9000$ you may want to check out our classified section there are some already heavily modified Raiders for sale.

Mine is an 08 with 70k miles in it. No issues whatsoever, only pure fun, every single mile!!!! Get it end enjoy!

I've got an '08.
Great bike - runs all the time.  Never any problems  :-)

Forget the issue with the rear Metz tire.
One of your 1'st upgrades is to put an Avon 240 on the back.

08, 12K miles. No problems.

Coil wires were correct on mine, reverse tread tyre was changed after 3K (my choice) to a 240.

Lifter issue were on some 09's, but few if any on 08's.

Buy it with confidence.
