Just out of curiosity, why did you guys go with this spike that needs a plate made to be install it instead of the ones everyone else has used that require very little modification to install?

Because it was very inexpensive...   and now we get to make a custom plate for it...

Just kidding.  I would've probably jumped on the sale as well had I not already had one.  Though I must say it was nice having mine installed within a couple days of receiving it.

I cut this bad boy out today, the design is obviously based on the previously drawn design, I cut it out of 1/4" stainless diamond plate, then in the center I cut a 3 3/8" hole, then I cut a 3 3/8" ring with a 2 1/4" cutout in the center. The ring was cut out of 3/8" material so there is a flat place to mount the SAC. The ring was welded to the back side of the plate.

I don't care for the diamond plate, but outside of that it looks great. I think I'd prefer the same design on a smooth surface.

I keep asking my buddy where he is at.  He has the material, I have the bolts. Just needs his CNC guy to free up some time.  I don't need any money till I get them done and I'd you get it elsewhere in the meantime, that's ok too.
