lol it only stinks while the paint is hardening and then the smell disappears right after they come out of the oven. but he however you get it done right lol

Hello, while I do indeed have a Stryker, I have used the VHT paint, and yes, it is a pain in the a$$!!!  Anyway, if you want to, take a look at this site...seems fairly reasonable to me.   And yes, I wanted my pipes to be black, not just the heat shields....

I did two stripes on my pipes and did the initial cure for a few minutes ildling ... and then went for a ride. They look the same as when I did it 3 years ago.

I believe I used header paint. If I do my pipes this spring, I will do the same

Did it do anything for the heat ? Thats what i would want it for keep stuff cooler. But im leavin my shields chrome.

I've thought about doing it as well.  Let me know how it goes.  I would probably have to do the heat shields too though. Depends on what paint job I go with.

VHT paint or any paint for that matter that isn't coating the inside of the pipes isn't going to reduce heat! i myself am trying to get the heat reduction so ceramic coating the pipes at a place "where they do the inside of the pipe" is necessary! That link to boneheadperformance seemed pretty good so i messaged the shop via email and they replied back very quick saying yes we can coat your pipes quickly and both inside and out! so i might be going with them

as discussed earlier in this thread is very expensive! might as well go for chrome at that price, from what i can tell they are applied in different methods but achieve the same thing (jethot & ceramic) only one costs about 65% less and is more available

well i dont have alot of options up here in MD but i got ahold of a place here called Custom Functionz and called them..they said they could Cerakrome my my heat shields and satin black my pipes for around $350...so if thats true im thinking its a deal...but idk what the going rate for this kind of thing is usually

Here in Orlando, there is a place that does professional cerami-coat on exhaust systems. I had a header and collector from an inline-4 done about 4 years ago and the cost was $375.00 for the job, so your $350 sounds about right. Doing this with VHT paint will not last...get it done right.
