1,380 miles later...

Just got back from a ride in the Hill country, put on some good miles and seen some beautiful sites, The Ole Lady drove the truck and 5 of us from work rode up, Sunday was her Birthday and I had her on the stand and she took a big Axis Doe, was a great 5 days....Raider performed Great in the Hills, Every time I think about a new bike this one changes my mind.......

Glad it was a great trip for you Thunder, the wife has to be excited bagging the doe, how did you fair?  Good to hear the Raider did well but then I didn't expect to hear anything less...

hey, i need some advice.  ive purchased a 2008 raider, getting to know her.
it seems at 60mph it asks for a sixth gear....
what do you find as the best cruising speed this the bike on the open road....
and what is the turning radius of this bike....  uturns are about to eat my lunch.

This bike will cruise just fine from 55 to 95 all day, and as for U-turns, hey its the longest factory cruiser built, it needs a little room!

 it will cruise 80 all day long . It doesn't need a 6 th  gear.   heck I forget to use 5th sometimes out on the road.

Just need practice, I U-turn a lot easier than HD Softail Delux riding friend. It just takes some getting used to.

I don't ever shift into 5th below 50, and if merging into traffic, closer to 60-65.  I think any bike that can run from 50 to 130+ in 5th gear, can do without a 6th one.  By the way, if you ride with Harleys, watch them shift and extra time and back and then up again time after time.  I'm happy with the 5th gear of the Raider.

Goes to show you it's all on the rider & learning the bike... Do some low speed riding in a parking lot & get a feel for the handleing
