Anyways, I was just thinking about the trip there to Wyoming, it'll be quite far (1021 mi.), but I'm thinking I can make the trip in 2 days.

We'll probably make it a 3 day trip.

Yeah, I'm thinking 2-1/2 days to ride up (a full 3 if Tracey comes with me).  If I'm riding solo, it will just depend on how I feel.  Since I got my seat reworked, I don't seem to get tired riding at all.  I rode 650 in a day ONCE with the old seat...doing it again the next day is new territory for me.

Ares X:  Will you guys be riding up through Vegas?  If so, we could probably do the majority of the ride together.  My plan right now is to go up the 15 all the way to about Ogden, then take 89 the rest of the way to enjoy the scenery....but I'm always flexible (no comments here Dreadly).

Probably not stopping in Vegas. That would add another 50+ miles. Probably I-17 to 89 to I-15.   We may be able to meet up at some point though. Our destination is almost directly north of us.

I missed the last WARR - so will try hard to make this one.
Any chance you guys could hang around the Tetons for part of the ride - supposedly very pretty country??

Has anyone found a thicker front tire and if so, how did it handle in comparison, and where can you find these options?

where PJ suggests a 140/70-21 for a front tire. I couldn't find it.

Never mind that question guys, I already purchased the two tires they're Avon Cobras. The 240 rear tire and the 120/70-21 front tire.

I ordered them through J&P Cycles for $373. Earlier this afternoon, I stopped at Cycle Gear asking for a price quote on the two tires - the quote was the two tires combined for $561. So unless there's a catch I'm not aware of, I think a savings of $188 is pretty good

Chaomalo - did you spend your savings on a new set of Ape Hangers??

Although I barely installed those apes this month December, but they were bought and ordred back in July. to tell you the truth they were very affordable.

Yeah the bars were cheap. I got them from Cuiser Performance they're listed on their site http://www.cruiserperformance.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=CPH-6500B for $188.95

There's a whole thread about them titled Cruiser Performance WTF! Check it out, they ought to be on the black list.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with them. I don't lean forward anymore Oh and I installed them last month since we're in January already.

Nice looking bars, seems like quite a project.   Probably shouldn't rub it in but I just got a set of Avon's from MotoXoutlet.com in Utah for $336 (includes the $25 for shipping to Oregon), got tires in 4 days.   Hope to see ya at WARR again this year Chalomalo, always good to have some USA GI muscle around especially when our friends to the North get onery , buy ya a drink with the money I saved if they got a watering hole where we're going.
