What is "average" yearly mileage?

Haven't had mine a year yet, (9 months) but have put on 12k so far....  I'd guess that my yearly will be 16k or so...

2011 Raven purchased in november 2011 and just hit 10k , My buddy with a 2010 street glide has only 4k total , I have been called  Crazy, and Retarded among other colorfull descriptive words , My best guess i just love to ride my Raider !!! btw i am in southern illinois

All good points. I wasn't inferring that thr ones who ride the most have the most fun. That of course is a purely perdonal and subjective opinion to each individual rid
I was making reference to the riders that I may randomly encounter that are all decked out in thier well-worn pirate outfits, scraggly hair, 2-day beard-lets, and several skull rings and such that espouse the the "true biker" ethos that they "live to ride" or "ride or die", insinuating that they practically live on the bike.
To then find out that they put around 1000 miles a year on thier bikes in a place like Floridajust seems funny to me. I guess I would classify those guys as "posers". Mostly I've seen these types at Bikeweek and Biketoberfest.

Sorry I misunderstood you. I have met some posers myself. In fact, a close family member is one.

I just realized I never even answered your question. My mileage these past 12 months has been about 5K.

One of my fully decked out Harwee owners at work has a 2000 Dyna Wide Glide that he bought when I bout my 2000 Drifter. Since then I’ve ridden, according to the odo’s on that and my 2 big Yamaha’s, a total of 191,000 miles. He has a whole whopping 5,000 on his now and is almost ready for his second oil change.

Interesting responses. I ride mine to work whenever weather permits, which is near all the time in Florida, and when I don't the truck for deliveries. I don't ride at night too much...just being extra cautious.
I averaged about 10,000 the first year, and I assumed that was what an "average" biker here in Florida would accumulate. When I bought the thing, my intention was to ride whenever practical for me, and I do.

I am also a little surprised at how many I have ridden with have the attitude that they are willingly putting up with a lot of discomfort by riding a lot. After a 40-50 mile leg of a longer trip, I see guys at gas stops stretching, aching and saying stuff like "I'll be paying for this tomorrow"...
Many are shocked that I have the stock seats and find no discomfort in long rides with them.

I guess I am just lucky to have picked the right bike. I am never in discomfort riding it, and can easily do 50-100 miles between stops. My longest single-day ride was a leisurley 300+ mile ride without trouble.

Longest single day I've done (on my VStar 1100 Custom) was coming back from WCRR with DougMN, Wolfraider, Tbird, Sneaky Pete & Pete's dad. We rode from Lead, South Dakota, looped thru the Badlands, then home to Twin Cities, MN. Easily 700+ miles.
The wind was horrible but my bike was comfortable. I'm looking forward to my next major road trip on my *New* Raider.
 
If I lived in Fla., I'd have a hard time getting off the bike!

Bought the bike in late March and have 6,000 on it now.  Insured for the year so I can do some winter rides on the odd good days here on the west coast of Canada.

Looking at 10K as an annual average going forward but who knows.  Love 2-3-4 day tours and look at planning several of them for 2013 and of course the biggie... WARR.  My girlfriend bought a new Honda 750 Phantom -powder black - sweet little bike and I ride that a bit too.  So I should get out more as she builds her skills. 

Coming back from WARR I did a 14 hr day of soild riding - very comfortable on a Yammie custon seat with backrest and windshield.

13,000 to 14,000 per year for weekend, holiday and an occasional "Road Trip" when my wife does not mind.  The hardest part of owning a Raiders is making it go home!  Never could understand that, why.......   

The longest ride was to Sturgis in 2011.  "10 days, 11 States over 4,400 miles and 100 mph + [at least once in each state] PRICELESS!"

I have done a few 1,000+ miles day rides.  Love thsi BIKE!
