Utah off road
« on: Nov 02, 2012, 02:45:29 PM »
Thinking about doing something a little different next summer:

First head over to Colorado and do some ATV trail rides: http://youtu.be/0_i2R0JtN78

Then over to Moab and do some off road jeep: http://youtu.be/UJLDrg7aU8I

I'd be down with a long enough notice for days off and to organize with other riders....

Moab will be HOT HOT HOT then.

Lots of great rides in the mountains here during that time though, dirt and street :)

maybe 4wheel here in the mountains, thats my summer preference. I hit Moab in spring and fall. Or better yet put that trip off until September/October. Then you get the most perfect fall weather all over.

Leaving Jacksonville Sept 15 arriving Moab on the 17th (no I'm not riding out) have a one day jeep rental for the 18th will head out of Moab to Gemini Bridge Trail then head over to Shafer Trail http://www.scenicusa.net/042906.html and work my way back to Moab  http://goo.gl/maps/v2qrZ  been wanting to do this since I was out there in 2003 so now is as good a time as any.

Pretty sure we did Dead horse in 2011 with WARR 1. I've been thinking about renting a Jeep to see if I want to buy one. Not sure what my plan is at this time but I'd enjoy a run to Moab. I did Gemini Bridge in 2006 on my 2005 Kawi Brute Force 750 and had a great time. Too bad it was the only time I road the dirt in Moab. Added a 2010 Kawi Teryx and that might be another machine to consider taking for a ride. Did you get quotes on rental and insurance? I'm curious on what it cost to rent for a day. I'm up by Pocatello so it's not tooo terrible bad. Could swing over to Grand Junction afterwards and see my bro.

I'm using http://canyonlandsjeep.com/jeeprentals.html I reserved one of the two doors - when I leave on the 19th looks like I'll be headed to Carson City NV - then back to Colorado maybe do some ATV trails.
