Sissy Bars

looking to buy a sissy bar maybe you guys can help me pick 1 .what do you guys like or recommend  and what is your height preference on a sissy bar .there's a few out there but  not sure which 1 !!!!!!!...

I put... and prefer the Yamaha Steel 12" (Tall) backrest. I haven't yet afforded the tail rack they make for it but I'll add that too as soon as I get far enough ahead 

I had the older factory Chrome unit but swapped out when they did the redesign... and when I swapped pipes and went to a lot of the black ceramic early in the summer.

the 12" is preferred over the shorter generally by anyone who actually sits back there, it also makes lashing on gear for a long road trip a lot easier in my mind.

Ha Ha! I figure... dirty chrome looks like... dirty Chrome! Dirty Black... Looks like somebody been doin' somethin'  Saves a lot of scrubbin' and polishin'... leaves more time for gettin' dirtier!

thinking of painting it again so when it's apart, I find that a great opportunity to shine up those pieces

What can I say? Red Sonja's a Dirty Girl! Muhahahahahahah!

Couple of things with sisy bars.  1) price, how much do you want to spend?  2) what are you going to use it for, looks, riding with a passenger, lash things to when you travel?  You can spend from 2-5 hundred dollars on a sissy bar (and luggage rack, sometimes included), just depends on your budget and what you want it do do.  Most passengers seem to prefer the taller sissy bar and pad, saying its more comfortable for the ride.  The taller ones also assist in tying luggage on and seems more stable for it on trips.  Comes down to; your decision.  Pick what you want for your application and go for it.

I bought the tall cobra curved sissy bar. It matched my mustang seats. And i can strap somethin to it the very few times that i ride alone. The girl likes it so i like it.

I made my own pad for the backrest as I didn't see the value of spending $90 for a pad ... but just be prepared for the cost of the backrest pad - it might shock you as it did me.

  if it ain't   lots of pretty chrome with little  paint.      its dirty

I have the tall fixed Yamaha backrest. All female riders have loved it but they might not know how many testers there have been. 

It works great as a tie on--I ride to work almost every day and tie down different briefcases everyday, and on weekends, like today, my chaps and sweatshirt because its going from 65 now to about 45 when I ride home.
