Happy Birthday Marines!!
I attended a Parris Island Boot Camp graduation on 10/19, first time back in 38 years.  My friend and I graduated Platoon 270 in 1974 and attended his son's graduation, Platoon 3280.  We graduated 3 platoons in 74, there were 9 this time.  The Marine Corps cut the grinder down to 1/2 its size from when I was there so they could add a couple buildings and tons of parking.  The confidence course still looked intimidating and probably couldn't breeze through it like I did at 19, but wanted to try.

Here are some pix, and I remember Marines don't put their hands in their pockets, so that's my buddy.

Happy 237th Birthday! I purchased a ticket to attend the local MC ball but have to transfer to Afghanistan before the event. Was looking forward to it but I'll just wish you all the best and thank you for your service to our great nation!

Happy Birthday Marines.   You know us sailors have always been ready to let you guys hitch a ride across the water.  I had the pleasure of serving with Marines in a SCIF at NCTAMS WPAC on Guam back in '90.  I still have the company T-shirt they honored me with somewhere in my attic with all my other navy stuff.
