I just picked up my custom Raider from Tejas Motorsports and rode it to northern VA. I spent months researching motorcycles online from Tanzania before choosing a Raider. I wanted a performance cruiser that would be good for taking weekend trips either alone or two-up. Aside from its killer looks, what sold me on the Raider was its handling prowess for a big cruiser. I bit the bullet and bought a used 2009 in as-new condition on eBay with low miles and very tasteful mods. The next step was to send it to Tejas, of course, so they could finish up my dream bike.
Through Tejas, I added: Tsukayu QR Strong bags and Edge ghost brackets, 240mm rear Avon Cobra, Patrick Racing Big Air kit, V&H 2 into 1 Big Radius exhaust, Kuryakyn rear axle bolt covers, Boulevard Midnight 10.5" windscreen, and full Reaper front fender and chin spoiler from Low and Mean. I followed Tejas's advice and paid a bit extra to have the painter they work with color-match the bags, fender, spoiler, and windscreen Raven black. This was an excellent decision because the paint is absolutely flawless and matches the bike perfectly. I also had them do a performance dyno tune.
When I walked into their service area on 3 November, I rounded the bend towards a bike I had purchased and modified sight-unseen. I had never even straddled a Raider in a showroom, let alone ridden one, because I live in Tanzania and do not have that luxury. It was an enormous leap of faith to dive into this project like this but it was a COMPLETE success thanks to the incredible wisdom of this forum and its willingness to post pictures of bikes (I used the pictures to painstakingly pick the mods I wanted). It was through this forum that I was introduced to Tejas and I will only deal with them in the future. Their attention to detail and professionalism makes it worth the added expense and logistics (my home leave and R&R is in VA).
