factory raider apes?

look guys, here it is plain and simple. i'm trying to picture a raider with some apes... no not like the apes i've been seeing. here is my idea... i think the angle of the apes must match the angle of the triple trees. every time i see a bike that has its apes rolled forward [ to keep from hitting the driver] it looks cheezy.[although apes are apes if you gotta have them] i see the compromises that builders take to make apes happen on the raider. and angle may not be all there is to it. i say don't pullback the hand grip angle, so the ape can come back toward the driver.
maybe i wasn't clear here and i could be wrong on all my ideas, soooooooooooooooo
can anyone show me an ape that compliments the raider [or looks like they belong]
yes....i'll take a set of those yamaha factory apes please...big john

Here's mine, they are just some black 12" santee apes i got off of eBay. The only reason the apes are pushed forward so far most of the time is because of each individual rider. the more "layed back" you ride the farther back you can put the apes, the more "upright" you ride the farther forward they have to be, plus it has alot to do with the length of risers. If you have long arms the bars will need to be more forward as well. I'm a fairly short guy at 5'9" and my bars are just slightly forward of in line with the forks.

Yes, i think they are 1" its been forever, they fit any standard harley bar size. and for length between them i want to say 8 inches but i really cant remember hat and the bike isnt here to measure right now.

8 sounds about right but I never found a clamping area that wide.

Thanks distant, I'm itching to finally ride again. I had a thought today that from outside to outside of the factory risers was 6.75" so for best results the clamping area of the bars needed to be 8". but like i said, definitiely measure yours out then you will know for sure. mine are just generic santee 12" apes for a Harley off of ebay.

So as long as the clamping area is 1" it should be no issue?

I started a thread last night about the spacing. Bars for a Harley Springer front end are closer to our C-C
