NEW SKIN FOR THE SITE (VBulletin Upgrade- NEW FORMAT)
« on: Nov 23, 2012, 02:12:01 PM »
Hello all,

We are thinking of converting the site over to VBulletin (I am sure many of you have used VBulletin before and know it's a lot more user friendly).

Right now we are using SimplePortal to run this forum, but VBulletin would make things run more smoothly and give a lot more in terms of functionality to users.

Here is an example of a VBulletin Forum: http://www.hondarebelforum.com/

Take a look and let me know what you think. It will help the site run a lot smoother and any issues (like spam) can be dealt with a lot better.

I also attached a mock copy of what the skin would look like on the new forum.

Once converted, things would look pretty similar, posts would stay the same and your usernames and passwords would work as is!

Regards,

Mo

Adam, I like it, one question, will it have any effect on getting my account reinstated if it doesn't happen prior to the change?

Hey Bill,

No accounts are affected when the transfer is made. In your case, I will double check to be sure though.

Looks good . But it has car reviews. ?? Would that be changed over to something else ? Like exhaust ,parts, etc ?

Please note... It's not just the skin.
The whole format of the forum will change as well

Not sure I like the idea. But as has been said time and again, you can't please everybody.

If you change the format of this forum you are going to lose memberships, the reason this forum is so popular is because of the way it is viewed and it almost feels like you are talking to that person at that moment in real face to face conversation. I have never been on a forum that has that feeling and if you take that away we will not have that closeness anymore. I say no to this new skin.  :'(

My boards are V and I feel just as comfortable on them as here  . We pride ourselfe on we a family .Just sitting around talking. You will adjust to the few changes you will notice in a couple days. Just as I did when I came over here . There Nothing earth shatterning   . Most of it will be behind the curtian so to speak Admin and mod  stuff.
