paint color

does anyone know the correct name of the color for a 2009 red  RAIDER. I am getting a L&M  REAPER front fender  and have a guy localy who will spray it for me for a dozen beer if i get the paint.  I am trying to get paint type , color , and code number if i can that way i am sure to have a good match.  I havent checked with any local body shop supply stores yet  i just thought i would ask all of the knowledgeable people on here first.

Cant help ya on the color ( Ruby Red I think) but any good auto paint store can get the color code and mix it. Our sister store did mine for my fairing. They did say it was a complicated color to mix. ( Liquid Silver)

I think it is "Deep Red Metalic"  -- one of the slowest colors 

I have seen L&M fenders done with "in the shop" matching and it looked really good.  If your shop can do that it will be cheaper than the colorrite route.  If not, the collorrite.com paint wizard is the way to go.

I had APS [auto paint supply] match my paint with the "gun" and it matches perfect even with an amature like me painting the parts. Colorite is VERY expensive. Also the color of the primer or sealer will make a differance in the final product in bright sunlight if you get that  fussy. Paint is translucent even if you don't think so. Hope this helps.

Im pretty sure, that cops give more tickets to red vehicles than any other color because Red is a fast color

I heard actually that a red cars insurance will be a little higher actually. Dont know how much truth their are to that though.

No there  the slowest . So easy to catch   Black is the fastest.

Okay again with color and speed.  Color is not a function of spread but of wave length.  Many would throw pigment into the argument but pigment because inconsequential when objects are in motion.  Two objects in motion irregardless of speed or color will either produce or reflect light and light has wave length.  Irregardless of initial color if the two objects are approaching other the wave length compresses or shortens the more compressed the bluer it appears, if the objects are moving apart the wave length is stretched or lengthened the more stretched the redder it appears.  So my black raider will look blue as I approach you and red as leave you.  Thus black raiders needs no color, while slower vehicles do.
