  Hey guys need some help. I got my shock spring and dog bones out of the bike and when i went to put it back together with the new parts the end of the dog bone is the wrong size. Its a smaller diameter. And is the new dog bone supposed to be longer than the factory ones? What can i do? Please help asap. Thanks

I had the same problem with the the dogbones I bought from Barons(LA Choppers). The hole in the dogbones are .005 smaller than the pin that has to go thru them. I just turned the ends of the pin down on a lathe in my shop to make it work. Someone should let them know about this issue so they can fix their parts before they ship anymore of them out.

I contacted them about this issue and this was their reply: 

Have you used a bit of sandpaper on it? That's usually due to the powder coated build up.

The new bones should be shorter than the stock ones.

The new bones should be shorter than the stock ones.

Shorter bones would raise the suspension.Drop bones are longer than the stock pieces.

Sorry my bad, theurbanlegend you are right. My stock bones are roughly 12 1/4" center hole to center hole, the Baron's are about 13".

  Yamaha shop was not helpful at all. I wound up taking assembly to a machine shop and got the to reem out the bungs on the end of the dog bones so now it all fits perfectly. As soon as i get home i will be putting it all back together.
