So what's this piece?
« on: Dec 23, 2012, 10:51:46 AM »
Hey Guys,
This is tucked into the right side headlight mounting bracket, I'm thinking a temperature probe?
If if is for temp, any reason I can't relocate it to the inside of  the headlight bucket?
...It's mounted right in the way of where I need to drill to install new turn signals.

You are correct-thats a air temp sensor. Mine is located inside my headlight bucket with sensor sticking out the hole where the wiring goes into bucket.

I don't think your want to put this inside your headlight as it tells the ECU how much fuel to send.

No problem mounting the probe outside of the headlamp. When I change my headlight out that is where I put it.

Thanks guys!
Ended up mounting the signals just a little further forward than where I thought they'd hit, so I'll be able to put the sensor back into the factory mount.

Glad it worked out for you.  I agree, i wouldnt move that piece inside the bucket.  the heat from the bulb and protection from actual temps would manipulate what the sensor tells the ecu.

You can mount it in the bucket, just make sure it's in the back by the hole with probe sticking outside bucket.
