Are these first versions the ones that are going out on everyone's Raiders?  If so, this sounds like something Yamaha should be covering the cost of.

I'll just be sure to use the newer number (01) when I order.

    You may want to call Yamaha and see what they have to say.  Tell them yours went out and you noticed there are two different part numbers. If they say the second is a replacement because the first is faulty and they improved it, then ask why it's not a recall.  I had great luck when I called them about the fuel pump.  You never know what could happen. Worse case... you're out about 15-20 minutes on a phone call.

    https://www.roadstarraider.com/docs/ypnaeg.pdf tells ya what the numbers mean.  The 01 means there is a design change, but that could be anything.
