Newb help!

   Ok I've been on sev forums I know how to search but I've lurked in here for weeks trying to make my decision on programmers and being all I've owned has been carb'ed bikes I'm more lost and more confused than when I started.  I want to get the Barron's Bak kit, and I love the vance 2 into 2 pipes besides a programmer that will be all the raider sees for a long time on performance mods.
   So going off the mods I want pipes and Bak, what easy to use, reliable, and would like not to have to spend 500 bucks programmer would you guys suggest.

Hey champ - check out the comments on http://www.roadstarraider.com/index.php?topic=18944.msg349642#msg349642.  I upgraded to the Cobra Fi2000 PowrPro at the beginning of 2012 and have been very pleased.  Good performance and it doesn't get any simpler since it's self-adjusting.

Well if you don't mind tinkering with it the PCV is your best bet for the buck.  If you don't want to have to play with maps then the Cobra Power Pro is plug and play but you will pay for it.  The PCV can be bought new for $379.00 from Dyno Jet but you can get it for much less on ebay, I have seen them as low as $225.00.  You could also even consider the Vance & Hines Fuelpak.  There are some that use it here and love it.  It sells for $289.00 but I am sure you could get it for less on ebay.  There are a few more options available but I can't think of the names, maybe others can chime in.  Good luck in your search.

I'm running the V&H 2-into-2 with the FuelPak and am very happy with it.  Easy to program and does everything I want to do.  I've heard the Power Commander 2 is better but I have no comparison to provide as I've only used the FuelPak.  I do know you won't be disappointed with the FuelPak and the price is pretty good as well.  That's my 2 cents.

Thanks this has helped a lot, a little more straight forward the more I dug an the more I searched the more confusing it got.  Looks like I'm going with power commander.

I've got a PCV that's on my 2009 that I'm selling for $150 if you're interested.  My bike is stock except for the LA Chopper pipes and I don't feel like I need every last ounce of power that the PCV can give.  If I had a modded air box I'd keep it.

This PCV has the updated firmware as of around April of 2012.
