DO NOT CUT THE WIRES. They come out very easily. Pull gently from the grip end while pushing the wire through. Feed one connector in at a time and only one can come out at a time.

t84a,

I'll give that a try. Since the wire harness is wrapped up, then I assume that needs to get cut so I can route one cable at a time?

Thank you much.

The cables came out just fine just like you said t84a,

My problems is that the holes on the new bars are too small compared to the holes on the stock bars.

Check out the pics.

chalomalo- Why'd you remove your tank?  I would think just moving it aside would be enough.

Jkockr2,

Thanks for the suggestion, oh - and thanks to youtube for the lesson on how to depin the connectors. I've never done this before.

Wow, I'm gonna be a mechanic by the time I'm done with this handlebar swap.

Yeah that's all I did. It was just rotated clockwise and on the the rider seat. the fuel lines were never disconnected.

This is titled "how to re-pin automotive connectors" but it goes into de-pinning as well.

And here's how it looks with all the cable ends repined. That's it for today.

Tomorrow, I install all the (not the electrical wiring) other cables - clutch, brake etc. It's starting to feel like I'm half way there.

Apparently you haven't seen my leaking clutch fluid thread where I had to replace the slave cylinder.

Friday- Moved the exhaust out of the way, disassembled the right side foot peg and uninstalled the bad slave cylinder.

Saturday- Received the new slave cylinder from SilverStreek in the late afternoon mail. Too late to get started.

Sunday- Installed the new slave cylinder, reinstalled the foot peg and exhaust. Washed and waxed her up and test rode.

Monday- RODE MY RAIDER!!!
