So, what's the advantage of synthetic?

Let's not rehash this on this thread.  here's a couple of threads where this has been discussed at length:

Thanks, T. I figured some discussion existed. I just had a lapse of laziness. Thanks for doing the research for me.  ;D

I've got a couple of AMSOIL dealers that I work with.. they get me pretty good prices... Let me know if you want any help in getting some.. If you're going to need to do the oil change soon, better to have the oil sooner rather than later...

One more off topic...

Deyv- Can you post your Amsoil locations and how much you're paying for it.  I'm getting it about $12 per quart or $44 per gallon.

Back on topic...

I sniffed my Raider today.  Sounds weird, but after I had been at work for over an hour my boss came by and said he smelled a weird oil smell as he walked by my Raider, so I went to check it out and no smell.  Considering we work at a manufacturing facility, the smell was probably coming from elsewhere.  I'm always smelling coolant/anti-freeze when I'm out jogging and lately a lot of sulfer.

I 'thought' about starting the bike and taking a rip around the block this morning. Temps are about 42°F this morning ... woo hoo

Then I deducted that the ice build up on the streets won't be beneficial in anyway. But maybe this afternoon or tomorrow if the temp keeps up  ;D

You have higher temps than we are right now???  You have got to be kidding.  Maybe that 2012 thing did happen and the poles have shifted.

Seriously! We're still under the "freezing mark" here! My baby has been sitting patiently for almost two whole days. I know that's no big deal to those of you whose Raiders have to hibernate over the winter, but two days without riding is kid of a big deal to me. So I didn't do anything to my Raider today. I looked at it. I cried a little.  :'(

Maybe for some, but I shed a tear each day during the winter months  :'(

I know exactly how you feel, which is why I've been braving the low 20s in the morning.  I just can't wait for Thursday to get here. Supposed to be back in the 70s during the day.

How nice.  We're looking at HIGHS in the upper 20's this week.

...oh, and I installed new mirrors and relocated my front turn signals

I think my rotor is misaligned or something. My break pads are out again. This will be my third time to change them since I got my 240 tire, which is only 4500 miles! I'm going into the shop to ask my motorcycle tech buddies about it. So, what did I do for my Raider today? I ordered new brake pads. I had been using the EBC, but I'm switching to Bikemaster this time around.

Do any of you know if there's an easy way to check or fix the rotor without removing the rear tire? I'm thinking there's not one, but it never hurts to ask. I thought about putting a board up against it and hammering it in, but I quickly dismissed that idea.  ;D
