popular mechanics comparisons raider vs fury-vegas-rocker
« on: Jun 09, 2010, 07:56:07 pm »
Just read July issue of Popular Mecanics---compared three other bikes vs Raider. Victory Vegas was a little faster in the qt mile but other than that I think the Raider  won it in the over all category.

If a Victory out ran the Raider in the qtr mile it was pilot error. I'll smoke any stock Victory on a stock Raider any day.
I go too far and too fast to ride a Harley! If you see my bike on a trailer call 911. A Corbin fairing, bags, heated seat, V-Rail and back rest, PC3, PR Air Kit, V&H BR, 5" Chopper's Surplus Z Bars, DWG sound system, Indian front fender, mucho Kuryakyn and Yammy bling,

None compare well to the Raider. The Vegas is a bike with good power, but beating a Raider in the quarter? The Rocker is nice, but I'm always surprised with how small they seem. The Fury is not worth comparing at all. Pricing the Raider shines when compared to all.

I had the chance today to sit on a Honda Fury today & the damn thing felt like sitting on a credit card !  What a narrow bike  & when i got off & stood back to look at it , i thought it was pretty darn ugly , good luck Honda  , all the best in sales of that thing.

The Polaris bike looks alot better than the Fury , & the Rocker , well i just have N/C   :P

I can entertain the idea that the victory vegas and the rocker might compare to the raider but come on the fury? are they serious? I make more power in just one of my cylinders then that wannabe chopper. The raider still is a better bike then the other two. The rocker is cheaply made as most hardleys are, and the vegas just falls short of the raider in performance.

we have a friend who really wanted a victory, he got
106ci...he even admitted that he was disappointed in
the feel of the engine....Im sorry Shawn, but he got
what he wanted and thats all that matters. As far as
the rocker goes, I thought I liked it....till I sat on it and
picked it up....ufh! Im sorry, but we have been through the
fury debate many many times and I have seen them
many many times.....Im just upset at the propaganda
stunts they pull with it...or at least what was going on
before the release and shortly after. If they would have
been honest and not pair it with the raider........IDK Im
not impressed and wouldnt spend the money

Okay, all Raider Riders can slam my bike if you want too.  I love the Raider too, my husband rides one, BUT it is not the bike for me.  The Fury fits me and has plenty of power for me.  I've said it before, it is a great chick bike.  It is getting lots of attention at the shows and I haven't done half the mods to it.  If I just had those wheels chromed I think I could take Poor Man's Chopper! LOL!

I think the Fury is a nice looking bike and would have no problem with my wife riding one. I just didn't care for all the plastic parts. Though her V-Star 650 has a lot of plastic parts on it too.
