The original exhaust on the Raider is really a 2:1:2 system using an exup valve that is suppose to be a much more efficient exhaust and is used on all the race bikes made by Yamaha and other companies.  I actually like the look of the OEM exhaust and the only reason I changed was for the very reason Hallguy mentioned.  Had Roadburner 2:1 been made in a flat black or Black Chrome I would have bought them instead of the plain chrome.

I like the RoadBurner 2:1, it sounds amazing, allows me to mount saddlebags real low and to flip my passenger pegs so they are at a useable level and I like the look of that big beefy pipe.

Ya'll just need to circumcise those pipes then, the size of the bags won't be an issue.    :rotfl:

When I got mine back in 2008 only chrome was available at the time and since wasn't adverse to chrome I got it,and now I am not about to dole out the money again just to change color.  But if for some reason my pipes got destroyed or stolen I would probably go with black chrome, if not available then flat black.

I'm not sure if a black ring is available but the chrome one would look good on the black pipe too, the ring has a black stripe on it already.  The billet rings were available because I bought one for mine a couple years ago.

If I went with black I would want the chrome tip and do know that they are available seperately.  When I bought mine you could get it with or without the chrome end.  Without was called Velocity Lite 2:1 with the chrome end installed they were Velocity Pro 2:1.

LA Choppers Curve DD slash Cut (there are a couple of different names for the same pipe as well).  Short aggressive styling, the chrome is really good, and the sound is ridiculous.  It scares the crap out of people...children pee their pants and dogs cower in fear.  They also flow with the lines of the bike really well.  Its a difficult pipe to tune but with some time you can get it just right so you have no popping.  I prefer a little popping on decel if I release the throttle at highway speed.  Lets people know I'm there and works better than the horn.  Install is probably the most challenging of the raider pipes since you'll need a jack to do it.

As long as we're on the subject, does anyone have a better price than $603 for Freedom Performance  Sharp Curve Radius pipes?  West End Motorsports have them for that much with free shipping.  Thought I found a place with them for $550, but their "free shipping" is on anything but pipes so that tacked on another $65.

Can you get an end cap for it?
I just bought the Road Burner 2-1  in chrome on ebay a couple months ago and got the end cap and ring from Road Burner although it's no longer made for the Raider they still make it for other bikes and the cap & ring are the same.

I like all the chrome that any pipe can offer, the more the better, stuck with the stock pipes, pulled the baffles, sounds great, an occasional pop, but you sure get that rumble
