Stratoliner Deluxe Inside Fairing Insert Home Mod
« on: Feb 27, 2011, 11:49:36 AM »
Ever since the first time I saw the Deluxe I wished Yamaha would have dressed the inside of the fair better.
With that said I came up with a new insert mod to help dress it up.  I made a template and used 1/8"
black acrylic.  Placed the template on the acrylic and cut it out.  Once they were cut out I had to heat them up to form
The exact shape.  These are still in the works but here is a sneak peek.  Once I get these to my work I will prime them
Then paint them Ravin Black to match my bike. The pictures will follow once it is 100% complete.

Home made mods.

I like the Delux but, as you mentioned, the inside of the fairing is really bland.  I wish Yamaha had taken the gauges off the tank and put them in the fairing like the Cross Country. Maybe there's already a kit for doing this, I haven't researched it.  I think it would give some life to the inside of the fairing.

What are these plexi pieces going to be used for?  Just decorative?

They just dress it up some is all.
When you stand behind the backside I think
they look good.  Hey it's a home mod thing lol.
Nobody has come up with anything as of yet so
I'm making it my own.

Keep it coming, brother! You're just ahead of us. There are quite a few of us who'd love to have a Strat besides the Raider. It's all about vision and inspiration, and you have both!

Looks good, I agree the inner fairing needs a little something.

Just finished upgrading my speakers.
Purchased a set of Kicker KS5250's.
They sound great and were easy to install.

Thanks for the comments guys.
I will post more pictures once I have the insert mod done.

Will need to look later but sounds likes a great solution for stereo options. Looking forward to checking it out. I need to do something similar to an old HD batwing fairing I have in my stash. Plan is to use it as a master mold and then tweak from there.

Yeah it's a Garmin that I have had for years.
Still works great.
I did a home mod and made the bracket for my unit.

Can someone recommend a good small amp that puts out 300 watts or better ?
I want to install a small amp next that will really drive these speakers.  I want to mount this small
Amp in my hardbags.
Thanks
