Stay away from the Baron's tach, works for some not for others.  It's hit and miss with it.  My first worked great, the second I can't get to work properly at all...  >:(

What about the Cobra tach?  Seem pricey to me but wonder if they're more reliable?

If I could only justify the need I'd like to try a Motogadget Motoscope Mini. Multi functional, small, German. spieglerusa.com is where I see Motogadget stuff. They have both digital & analog gauges. Looks like quality.

If your first worked great, why would you need a second?

Really?  do you think things last forever?  I suppose you never had anything you ever owned go bad on you, if so consider yourself the only one in creation that has ever happened too...  :o

I have a Baron's tach.  Sometimes it is solid, sometimes it bounces.  However, it is good enough for what I want it for.  Sounds like the Cobra has been good for some folks.
