6" Risers?
« on: May 17, 2020, 11:40:23 am »
Has anyone tried any larger sets of bar risers? 4" or more?
I am a pretty big guy and I dont need anything with a pull back. I spent a few years riding a bike with 12" apes and I would like my hands to be a little higher, but not crazy.
Keeping the factory cable would be my next question. Just seeing if anyone has any input or experience.
Thanks!

I've wondered this myself.  I have some 10 inch apes on 3 inch risers now, but I would imagine that without the pullback of the stock risers you could easily do 6" or 7" risers with the stock lines/cables.

The stock risers are at least 6".   If you added 12" apes, I suspect you would need extended cables and hoses (+6 maybe?), and not sure you'll have enough switch wiring.

I replaced my stock risers with 1" risers (from a Yammie Bolt) to mount 12" apes, and used +2 cables/hoses which are just about right.  Still have some switch wiring, but the three smaller connectors are at max.

Personally I think apes on tall risers look out of place. Replacing them with 1" risers just looks a lot more appealing to me.
