I had those in chrome many years ago on my first Raider.

It took me a while to find them on your Raider.

Since you'll only be riding solo you should go ahead and take off the heel guard above the pipe where the riders peg would be. ;)

If you right-click on the attachment and choose open in new Window or new Tab it won't be too big to see.

Sorry if off topic but Ares X where did you get that air intake.....brand, model, etc. Is it a simple installation or did you need to modify anything to install it?  Looks awesome on the Raider.

Mmmm, thought about that originally but actually looked better with a bit of contrast. Have built a lot of show bikes over the years and contrast is one of the major tools. Sure, can always get it wrong but not by much.

Sorry misunderstood you, I was referring to the chrome exhaust heat shield. Yes, totally agree with you on the heel guard but my wife periodically rides with me so I need to be able to convert it back to two up easily.

Wow, fantastic contrast between the matt and gloss blacks! Lovely.

I got it off eBay many years ago.  It looks like they still have them.  I believe the one I used was for the V-Star 1100. You can probably make the Honda VTX version work too.   Just search for "motorcycle spike air intake".

All spike intakes require some customization.  I had to drill new holes for it, but it wasn't tough. Just get a good drill bit because the discount ones from Harbor Freight suck and will probably break. I then bought a custom black filter to match, though you can also spray paint the one it comes with if you wanted to.

Thank you!  It was exactly what I was going for and the best paint I have had on any Raider. Far superior to factory paint.

You do know it's just for show not a real intake right?
