LED Headlight
« on: Jul 23, 2020, 03:01:02 pm »
Hi everyone

I'm ready to put my new LED headlight on my 2009 Raider, but I have no idea about where to put the red wire.  I have the 3 wires H4 plug, no problem there, but that extra wire . . .   The headlight is from Drag Specialities and I didn't find any info on their site.

Thanks  in advance for you help

You'll have the ground, high beam and low beam wires.  Where is the fourth wire connected in the socket?

It's not connected anywhere, it's loose

If it was loose before then I suppose it can stay loose.  I haven't had my bucket open in a few years so I don't remember a loose red wire but I'm sure it is an extra for something.

The new bulb should fit the same socket the old bulb came out of.  The red wire MAY be the accessory wire

Since its a LED bulb and it pulls less amps you will probably get "stator growl". Its the sound of your stator making a loud noise because it can't handle different amp pulls from the electrical system. You may want to add a 50w load resister. Can someone on this site please confirm this worked for their stator growl? Thanks.
