Polaris 'may' bring back the Victory...Yamaha are you listening???

Polaris, home of the Indian motorcycle, 'may' (operative word is may) bring back the Victory??? Dealerships have had a high demand for the Victory and have passed it on to Corporate...I'll believe it when I see it...I believe Yamaha made a mistake dropping the Road Warrior and the Raider...Suzuki decided to 'not' drop the M109...PEACE RIDE  SAFE

My second choice after the Raider was either a Victory Hammer or Vegas 8 ball. Love the look and power of all three bikes. I wish Yamaha would bring back both the Raider and the Warrior. As of now they lack a power cruiser other than the V Max which I consider more of a naked sportbike than a cruiser

I agree with all of this.

My wife was debating between getting a new '11 Stryker and a used 8-Ball. She opted for the Stryker since it was new and just had a cleaner look to her.

Be cool if Victory comes back but Yamaha is more complicated IMO.

HD, Indian and Victory had the advantage of sharing motors and powertrains.  Yamaha was all over the place so much more R&D plus more costs to keep inventory stocks.  We had 3-4 bikes sharing a motor at the high point I believe and that is simply harder.

Plus Yamaha already has the diversification that HD has tried to obtain for years.  Granted they totally shunned those of us in the cruiser segment recently but I bet their sales numbers support that choice.  Love the new MT09 or not, Mother Yamaha spent a fair amount of time redoing that bike.  Personally I rode the previous one and really liked it...
I think the reality is that Yamaha will come in and out of segments as they change.

Almost had my father-in-laws Jackpot until his other son-in-law got his hold on it. The metallic paints are unreal on the Victory's like none I had ever seen. Also loved that 6 speed tranny. I have had my second VMax(Gen2) for about 3 months now and it is definitely not what I consider to be any type of cruiser. A monster of muscle and does handle better than some of my sport bikes.

If I could afford (or should I say "allowed" to have) 2 bikes i would have my raider and the vmax. You're a lucky guy to have them both at the same time!

Blessed to have both and both are Galaxy Blue, my color. 14 Raider and 16 VMax.

Yeah they have been driveshaft since first year of 85. I never had any issues with my 85 in the seven years I owned it. In corner I don't see any difference, now maybe someone that runs on the track all the time may have a different view. The only downside to me which I have already looked into trying to go to a taller gear but since it's not a pulley or sprocket you have what you have...

I had a Honda VFR 1200 with shaft drive. Never had any issues and it was virtually maintenance free
