2) when they are detached, WHAT AN EYE SORE!! We plan on cruising a strip by the beach and having the brackets draw all the attention simply will not do..
The eye sore he's referring to with the Easy Brackets removed are the connector bolts that stick out from the fender on both sides.I, personally, don't think it's that bad.
Step 1: Sell the unicorn for $500Step 2: Buy a permanent mount sissy bar for $250Step 3: Buy bags and supports for $250Total cost: $0Just a thought.
I had throw-over bags on my first Raider and they ended up wearing the clear coat on the sides of the fender due to vibration. I was pissed. I ended up going with EZ-brackets after that. On my last two Raiders I went with permanent mounted hard bags. When doing long trips, I just strapped other bags, usually a large duffle bag, to the fender rack, but my wife has her own bike and I'm guessing you don't have that option.
Here's my bike in a previous life...bagged up....lol (Circa 3-16-11). Cortech Sport bags can be "thrown" on. I used all of these bags on my FZ1 too, except for the Kuryakyn (backrest bag). Very versatile. When expanded, you can fit a full face helmet, plus some in them.
Have you considered just getting your wife her own bike and then strapping luggage on like I do?
