Hi, I'm new here, so I hope this problem isn't already posted. It's very strange.
I'm riding a Roadstar 1600 from 2003, it has 12k miles now.
When I do a cold start, first start in the morning, it starts normally and then about 4 seconds later it makes a loud ping (like a hammer striking an anvil), just one ping and then it goes on running normally. This doesn't effect the running process of the motor, it doesn't miss a beat, just goes right on running normally. The ping sound just worries me, it doesn't seem to effect the motor, but I"m concerned that it might be a pre-condition to a future failure of some sort. Any ideas would be appreciated.
