I took my bike in for fork seal replacement and during the service it was discovered that the Spindle, taper (Slider) was broken, P/N 1D7-23173-00-00 SPINDLE, TAPER (Yamaha) .  My bike is a 2009 Raider.

Wondering if anyone might know of any other sources, have searched the web and no one has the part (not even Yamaha), has to be shipped from oversees and soonest is July 26th.  Bike is in the shop and really don't want it sitting disassembled for 2 months.

If anyone has material type and dimensions i might be able to 3_D print it, if it is just ABS plastic.

Any help would be helpful.

Thanks! Yeah, they don't have it. Ordered it and 2 days later they stated that the ETA could not be determined.  Unfortunately, hard to believe that this part is not available.

What about e-bay where sometimes there is a Raider being broken down to parts?

I think this is kind of common right now. I have two sets of Avon tires on order. They've been on back order with the dealer and they're supposed to ship on 6/24. It's been about 3 weeks already.

I was able to retrieve the broken spindle taper, it was in 4 pieces. I asked the service manager who stepped on it (can't imagine it coming out of the assembly this way), no response of any value.

I am in the process of modeling it in Inventor (90% complete, fine details now) and will attempt to 3d print this week, we will see how it goes. It is a bit of a complicated part.

I am happy to report that I was able to successfully model and 3D print the spindle taper and the bike is back together.
