Tachometer Options for the Raider
« on: Dec 07, 2009, 05:33:29 pm »
Greetings Folks,

Anyone know what type of tachometers are available for our Raiders.  I am looking for a chrome one that will fit the bike with a Boulevard windshield.  I appreciate the forthcoming options/comments.

Season Greetings to all!   :raider:  Ride frequently and Safely

There aren't many choices, but if you use the Search function on the menu bare and enter "tachometer" you can find several threads where this has been discussed before.

Is there anybody out there with more to add than has been said already?

Barons.  Works perfectly, easy to install, and has a variety of faces available.

The cobra one is really nice as well.. did you need an adaptor for it?

I kind of wish I would have gotten the Baron's one with color changing LEDs but I figured it wouldn't be polite to ask since I got the thing for free.

No. Fit like a glove and the hookup was easy. Especially if you watch someone competent do it.  ;D

Back in the day I had a variant of this tach on my VStar mounted on top of the center steering nut . Selectable between 8 backlight colors and comes in white face.

I would like a tach on the Raider without spending a fortune but will I need the single fire adapter ?

Here is a pic of how I had it mounted on the Vstar. Thinking it may work the same for the Raider.

you need the adapter for the baron's one.

I can't remember where I saw it but I saw a tiny, like 2-3" x 1" digital tach that was pretty cool.  You could mount it anywhere it was so small.

Capt, I haven't seen the color changing LED model that will fit a 1.5" bar.  Maybe you can put a bug in someone's ear at Baron's?  I'd buy one if I could find one.

I think their color changing one does fit 1.5 bars.  I wish I had that one too but can't complain since my was free as well.  If the color changing one is 3"  I'm sure the guts would fit in the case of the one's that do fit the bars.
