With Brains air box mod I read that you now don't have to raise the tank, does anyone know if that is true? Also for his mod do you need the stock air box cover because mine is long gone.

I didn't raise anything. Just bolted it all down like normal and room for my Digital Guard Dawg as well.

Iam only one with raised lid. When I one of 1st for Raider. Brain thought the Raider needed raised also. Found out later it didn't I never changed mine  See no reason to . I might get little more air with raised tank  ;D .  Running with out lid seems to me might get a lot of water on/thru filter in rain.  Of course I don't know nothing I have my tank raised ;D ;D

Pete, you have to have the lid with the BAM kit.  The BAM is a spacer that goes under the lid to open it by 3/8 inch I believe it is.  If you don't have the lid the BAM would do you no good.

I haven't seen it but his kit is pretty simple. $15 for brackets, so it can't be too complicated.  As long as the air filter is tight to the bottom of the box so the air gets in and dirt stays out they should be effectively the same even if the brackets are different.

If you have the filter tight and secure, it's probably pretty much the same thing.
